The Integrated REDD+ Program in Maniema (PIREDD Maniema) is a joint initiative between the Congolese government and international partners, co-financed by CAFI and German cooperation. It aims to reduce deforestation and forest degradation in Maniema Province (DR Congo) while improving rural livelihoods. By promoting sustainable land use, strengthening governance, and developing green value chains, the program enhances local capacities to manage forest, agricultural, and energy resources. Spanning from 2021 to 2025, PIREDD combines conservation, community development, and systemic land planning to support both climate goals and socio-economic resilience.
