Gabon is committed to sustainably managing its forests, which cover over 88% of its national territory, while ensuring that forest-based economic activities deliver both environmental and social benefits. This project supports the implementation of Gabon’s Forest Concessions Transformation Strategy by assisting logging operators in meeting national certification requirements, improving transparency and governance in forest management, and promoting inclusive community forestry models. It aims to strengthen the enabling environment for forest sustainability through legal, institutional and spatial planning reforms.
