CAFI was established in 2015 at the margins of the United Nations General Assembly as a partnership initiative that gathers a coalition of donors. Today, that coalition includes governments Belgium, The European Union, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, the Republic of Korea, the United Kingdom (current chair) and the United States. CAFI’s 6 partner countries include the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the Republic of Cameroon, the Republic of Congo, the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and the Republic of Gabon. In addition, CAFI counts amongst its partners a number of implementing organizations and South-South partners.
